Mercy Children's Home Kenya

Pastor Lindsay and Sally Lockwood saw the plight of children in Kenya and decided to do what they could to help.
We set up Mercy Christian Children's Ministries, in 2003 bought land and built a new home for thirty eight children in 2005.
We have set up a sponsorship program $50.00 per month keeps them fed and clothed as well as providing medical care for them.
Since then we have been developing the home as funds have come in, we now need to build another accommodation block for the house parents / managers and need help to do it, if any one would like to help we can be contacted at mccmikidz@bigpond.com we would be very appreciative of any help for these kidz.
All donations are tax deductible, we fund raise through garage sales etc and have raised approximately one third of the funds needed for the new building.
Our Goals are to educate the children to the highest possible standard so that they can become influence rs in their country.
Sponsors:-
These are the wonderful people who take the orphans into their hearts and families and give them an opportunity to excel in life.
Many of our sponsors come from our church Adelaide Hills Christian Outreach Centre. http://www.coc-adelaidehills.org/ and many from people we have met while travelling, also family and friends.
We are very grateful to them for their support off our kidz
Businesses who help us:
With out the help of local business people the lives of our children would be much more difficult and so we would like to say a special thank you to them for their support and guidance.
Waterford Estate in Murray Bridge http://www.waterfordretirement.com.au/ has been helping us for 4 years now with sound advice and help with business structure and to them we are indebted greatly. also to Murray Computer and Office Shop web site mcos.com.au for advice and encouragement along our journey.
Thank you for helping these deserving children become nation changers, you are helping to influence a wonderful Nation Kenya for good.

May 2009. Hi to all our friends and supporters we have just returned from Kisumu in Kenya from a five week visit with our Kidz.
They are all doing well thanks to the support of our sponsors and all other donors, we were able to do lots of work, we built a new three bedroom house for the managers family, built a secure fence around the compound, installed steel gates, planted 31 fruit trees, repaired the wood stove, bought a computer for the office, installed water purifiers to give them safe drinking water.
Put a new submersible pump in the well, and gave the Kidz new clothes, earlier this year they all had new school uniforms and shoes along with school bags.
It is an honour to serve these kidz as they work very hard at school some of them are top in their classes of up to 100 children, so they really do appreciate the help they get.

                                                               2012 News Update
Since our last update we have built a new dining area and started building a ministry centre to provide accommodation for visiting ministries. So that it will be a source of income for the home..
Our intention is to make the home self sufficient.
We have seen good progress made by some of our Kidz. one is training to be a nurse and another has started studying Civil engineering.
We are very grateful to the sponsors for supporting these kidz they are very much aware that they have an opportunity to change their lives and perhaps their nation.
